In a tough economic environment, trust can help a social platform stand out among competing ad venues.Ģ) Marketers should prioritize platforms that are working to raise user trust. What should platforms and their partners do? Here are two important (and yes, obvious) steps:ġ) Social platforms must act now to shore up trust. All of these figures were down substantially from last year and also from 2020, as the chart below shows.

But other platforms suffered as well only 31% of #LinkedIn users and 30% of #Pinterest users agreed or strongly agreed that their privacy and data were protected, with lower percentages for the remaining platforms. Just 18% of users agreed or strongly agreed the platform protects their privacy. It’s not surprising that #Facebook’s long history of privacy infringements continues to affect user perceptions. The survey reveals that trust in social media platforms (which hasn't been very high to begin with) has declined substantially this year in key areas including #privacy, safety, and #adrelevance. Neither should the social platforms, their advertisers, or their ad agency partners.

It's a landmark piece of primary research (in its sixth year now - and my second year being involved in it), comprising a consumer survey of more than 2,000 US #socialmedia users and a unique ranking methodology that assesses and ranks nine social platforms in five categories of trust. Kosh / Mr.You know that feeling when a project you spend 6 months on finally sees the light of day? Simultaneously excited and relieved-and maybe a bit exhausted?
